Week 10 Contribution - Holly: Hosting our expo
Our expo was called phonemicon, which is to do with different aspects of the brain, therefore to follow this theme our offering was called cause and consequence and was about activating the frontal lobe of the brain, the area of the brain that is responsible for decision making, our aim is that the people going through would see how seemingly meaningless decisions we make on a day to day basis in reality have a huge impact on our lives. To do this, we set up coloured dots on the floor, participants were then asked a series of questions, each question leading them to a different coloured dot on the floor which then determined which balloon they ended up at.
One aspect that annoyed me a little bit was the fact that it was only myself, Hilary and Alissa and Krista setting up the night before together due to Claire having work and Bianca not showing up. However, the morning of it was particularly nice to see our whole team doing the remainder of set up together and afterwards those that weren't there the night before put in the most effort to pack the expo down. A further aspect that frustrated me was that on the night before when we were setting up the expo, we learnt that the space team along with team 30 hadn’t communicated that they were moving from their designated space and planning on using a meeting room at the end of the our hallway, a space which we were intending on using to both pump up and store balloons. This was frustrating for two reasons, one being that team 30 weren’t willing to compromise and two if it had of been communicated earlier we could have made adjustments to our setup. However we managed to compromise with a team down the hall and they agreed to move along so we could use a doorway to create a pen (out of tables) in which we could both store as well as pump balloons.
During the expo Claire and I acted as question masters leading each person through the expo, Bianca popped the balloons, Alissa was collecting ponchos and handing out lollies at the end, Hilary and Krista were blowing up balloons and hanging them up. Together I felt we worked really well as a team and wouldn't have been able to run our offering as efficiently as we did with out each of us there working hard.

If you landed on the green dot - Introvert or extrovert (Introvert to orange extrovert to red)
If you landed on orange - Do you think with your head or your heart? (Heart to pink balloon, head to orange balloon)
If you landed on red - Would your rather be crazy rich or deeply in love? (Crazy rich to green balloon deeply in love to red balloon)
If you landed on the yellow dot - Imagination or reality (Imagination to blue reality to purple)
Purple - am I a better person today than I was yesterday? (White balloon yes, purple balloon no)
Blue - am I happy today? (yellow balloon yes, blue balloon no)
