Week 11: Participating at the abandoned material expo

The expo for abandoned materials was extremely cool, it was interesting to see which aspects teams from the expo opted to refer to as abandoned things, from areas relating to childhood, through to abandoned clothes, abandoned dream jobs and even abandoning stress.
This expo allowed us to reflect on what we’ve abandoned from our own lives. One stall that I think grabbed my attention the most was the stall in which we selected the jobs we wanted to be when we grow up, we then wore costuming to reflect this and stood in front of a green screen with a projector showing us in the location of our dream job, an image was then taken of this and displayed on their instagram “whenigr0wup” which was extremely cool to be able to go and look at how everyone else had dressed up. A further stall that I found to be nice was the room which was designed to relax you and release stress. This room was particularly cool as you walked into the room that had a tent-like structure made from sheets along with  fairy lights attached. The room was nicely scented (with lavender I think?) and there was an exceptionally soft bed in the room with warm cozy blankets that allowed you to relax in. It reminded me of a spa day and the only thing that would’ve made it better would have been a massage. However, this room was perfectly juxtaposed with the previous stall in which you were put under immense stress walking through a horror type maze, which was rather scary.
I also found that it was a really unique idea when we were leaving the expo to have a photo taken of us which we have no idea how or where to access as so often we take so many photos on a day to day basis that we never look back upon again.
