Week 9- Critic on expo for impossible things.
My critic on the expo for impossible things.
I think that this expo addressed the idea of impossible things quite well. The overall collective stuck to the theme of being in a dream state so everything was dark and ethereal. I think some groups had stronger offerings than others as they were more interactive and fun and made you think more. I think how the collective started was very strong as I enjoyed being able to relax in the fluff or clouds at the very start to get into the feeling of what the rest of the expo was going to be about, kind of started you of easy to ease you into the offering. Although many groups were so different with what they offered, you could still see the similarities as they were all dream like or magical. Something that i did hear about of problems with was people feeling left out because they didn't get to go to the VR headset room. I understood that there was limited headsets so they needed to be selective and i thought how they selected people was fun with the questionnaire (I was happy since i was selected) but i don't think everyone was so happy with this. The atmosphere at the impossible things expo was very calm and soothing as it was mostly black and many stalls had fairy lights and the area just had a more relaxed feeling to it. It was like being in a good dream that you could enjoy, and it was overall a fun experience and had a fun atmosphere as everyone was enjoying themselves. I think the general offering that the whole collective was trying to give us was a dream like experience, they wanted to transport us somewhere else, or at least make us feel like this. We did get a few lollies and print outs when we went around which was another fun element. I feel that in the collective for impossible things there was variety in the expos and that everyone had something different to offer us. Each stall had new things to show and nothing was the same, whether it was listening to something, or figuring a riddle out or looking into something, no two things were alike so you were never bored with what you got. Although there was variety they all still kept to the same theme and you could easily see the cohesiveness between everyone.
